IELTS Exam (AT & GT) Sep-Dec 2014 Predictions

IELTS Exam (AT & GT) Sep-Dec 2014 Predictions (Updated: Sep 6 2014)

---- Important Note: PLEASE READ FIRST ----

To students:
If you like this document and want to help make it better, please submit http://goo.gl/an6fS4your questions after the exam. However, during the exam, PLEASE DO NOT spend time memorizing the questions. Please focus, because;
  1. You need to do your best.
  2. You are not a teacher who is getting $$$ to remember questions and answers.
  3. If you concentrate during the exams, you will naturally remember more things.
I’m doing this to help you to find a direction for self study and practice. When you practice enough, and hopefully have someone to help you check your writing, you WILL improve your writing skills.

This means, you SHOULD NOT rely on the content of this file to help you get lucky.

To other teachers and/or website posters:
The data here were sourced from IELTS365, IELTS Simon, XDF, ielts51, IELTS Network, and GEDU. I have spent a lot of time organizing this, so if you’re going to give other people this information, at least tell them you got it from Jimmy’s IELTS. I don’t want to use big ugly watermarks, as it’ll only defeat my original purpose.

1. Say something (to somebody) -- [conveying info] -- ‘Orlando Bloom said (to me) that he enjoyed punching Bieber.’
2. Say to someone -- [convey info to a person] -- ‘Doraemon said to me that I need to bring him more rats.’
3. Say (something) in (a language) -- [expressing in a language] -- ‘How would you say that in English?’
1. Speak (to someone) -- [act aiming to the receiver of info] -- ‘Taylor hasn’t spoken to me since.’
2. Speak about something -- [discuss] -- ‘They speak about butterflies for hours.’

1. Talk (to/with someone) about something – [express things in words] -- ‘They keep talking about birds and bees.’
2. Talk of something -- [debate as a possibility] -- They have been talking of divorce.
3. Talk (a language) -- [to use a language] -- ‘They talk French to practice.’
4. IDM: talk back [to reply rudely] vs. Talk bad behind one’s back [speak ill of]
► ‘Tell’
1. Tell (someone) something -- [revealing info] -- ‘He never told me that.’
2. Tell someone to do something -- [requesting an action] -- ‘They told me to shut up.’
3. Tell (someone) about something -- [giving an account] -- ‘Tell me about your new girlfriend.’
4. Tell -- [determining something] -- ‘Who can tell what killed her.’
***Một số lưu ý:
► Chúng ta dùng ‘Tell the truth’, ‘speak the truth’, ‘say the truth’ (mỗi cách dùng đều có nét nghĩa khác nhau) nhưng không dùng ‘talk the truth’.
